I collaborated with a Masters student from LMU on a project that extended my research with the Kinect. Marion's Masters project involved creating 3D models of physical books that could be displayed on a mobile device, and using inertial sensors to interact with them. I turned the prototype into an experiment that used the Kinect to filter book collections on the device according to positions on a physical bookshelf. I gained feedback from participants about using this interface, and we submitted the work as a poster to the MUM 2013 conference. Despite being the main author of this paper, I was unable to present at the conference. Marion's Ph.D. supervisor filled in for us instead, who had provided some feedback on the paper. Kiff very kindly helped out with the design of the poster, which can be viewed in the pdf below.
