Research internship: MATCH Project 06/06/2008
After my 2nd year, I applied to do a 10 week internship with the MATCH Project. My task was to build a multi-modal reminder system integrated with their existing Health Care framework. I had experience with Java, and was able to use this to create a Java Swing application with the Google Calendar API. The application could send reminders to patients via email, and could control the feedback for different types of notifications. In addition to my project, I created how-to guides along the way that documented how to integrate with the MATCH framework. This was a good software engineering experience. It was also a great opportunity to meet HCI researchers and learn about what they were doing. My report from this project is documented below.
